Jersey Mike’s Subs Now Open In Chicago Union Station
CHICAGO, November 13, 2019 – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, is now open at Chicago’s Union Station. Nationally recognized and established food and beverage operator, The Grove, Inc. (TGI), opened the new restaurant located in the upper concourse food court, immediately adjacent to the Jackson Street escalators. To celebrate the debut of its first Jersey Mike’s in Chicago, TGI held a Grand Opening free sub fundraiser to support SCC/Special Olympics Chicago.
“The Grove, Inc. is incredibly excited to welcome Jersey Mike’s Subs to Chicago’s iconic Union Station and we’re thrilled to partner with Special Olympics Chicago to commemorate our Grand Opening,” said Nina Madonia, Chief Executive Officer of The Grove, Inc. “We share Jersey Mike’s commitment to quality products, exceptional customer service, and dedication to giving back to the local community—and I am excited to support a local worthy cause such as Special Olympics Chicago, which was founded right here in our hometown.”
During the month of November, the Jersey Mike’s Subs at Chicago Union Station will continue to accept donations to Special Olympics Chicago. PepsiCo. generously donated fountain drinks, free with a donation to Special Olympics Chicago at Jersey Mike’s during the Grand Opening.
“Thank you to Jersey Mike’s and The Grove, Inc. for their incredible support of the 7,500 athletes who compete through the Special Olympics Chicago program,” said Matt O’Shea, president of Special Children’s Charities and Special Olympics Chicago. “Our dedicated athletes work so hard throughout the year, and because of support from companies like Jersey Mike’s and The Grove, Inc. we’re able to provide life-long memories and experiences. I hope all of Chicago will stop by Union Station and pick up a Jersey Mike’s sandwich to help support Special Olympics Chicago.”
The addition of Jersey Mike’s to Union Station gives commuters, travelers, and the surrounding business and residential community the opportunity to enjoy subs made with the freshest ingredients. These include crisp vegetables, premium meats and cheeses sliced on the spot and piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team. Jersey Mike’s turkey breast, ham, prosciuttini, and cappacuolo are all antibiotic free. The Chicago Union Station Jersey Mike’s also serves breakfast sandwiches until 10 a.m. daily, featuring two eggs fresh from the flat top grill with cheese and your choice of bacon, sausage, pork or steak.
“Amtrak welcomes Jersey Mike’s as a new option for the thousands of customers every day in our Food Court at Chicago Union Station who are looking for a fresh and tasty meal,” said Linda Frankel, Senior Real Estate Development Manager for Amtrak.
TGI offers a variety of leading food and beverage options at more than 47 locations—and counting—nationwide. Jersey Mike’s has 58 locations in the Chicagoland area, with the Chicago Union Station location marking the fourth in the city of Chicago.
